This 32,000 square feet project aimed to preserve and rehabilitate two historic commercial buildings for new mixed-use occupancy. Johnson-Schmidt & Associates conducted a significant NYS Building Code review to ensure the new program met current safety and fire codes with sprinkler systems, ADA accessibility, and fire-rated stairways. Façade masonry, windows, and carpentry were restored to their original configuration. Most interior walls were retained in accordance with the building's historic footprint.
