Bath Masonic Temple

  • Commercial & Adaptive Reuse
  • 10 West Pulteney Square, Bath, NY
  • Budget:
    $1,500,000

An early Steuben Bank/Masonic Temple was respectfully converted into a mixed-use building as part of this project. The building spans 16,050 square feet and retains its original 1833 facade. The restored interior includes commercial space on the first floor, controlled environment basement storage, and market-rate apartments on the second and third floors. Upgrade work included sprinkler systems, handicapped accessibility, and fire-rated stairways. Aspects of the building's unusual history as a Masonic Temple are preserved in the interior space, from ceremonial alters to ritual passageways. The building's facade masonry, windows, and carpentry keep in standards with its original configuration and historic aspect.

J-S&A played an integral role in undertaking review work of the NYS Building Code to ensure the new change of occupancy met all applicable life and safety codes.
