The Elmira Corning Regional Airport Lounge passenger lounge, designed by Johnson-Schmidt & Associates, is a great place for travelers and local residents to relax while waiting for their flights. The design of the bar and service counter resembles an aerofoil, while the space itself features a half-scale glider, a warplane engine, and the frame of an airplane wing. Patterns on the floor suggest runway lights to passengers coming or going. The lounge features objects related to the region's rich aviation history, generously procured from local aviation institutions including the National Soaring Museum, Warplane Museum, and Curtiss Museum. This design improves the ambiance of the airport, providing an engaging environment for people to enjoy a meal or snack.
