The renovation of this 24,000 square feet downtown building has resulted in stunning loft-style apartments and student housing. Its refurbishment uncovered the hidden beauty of the building's traditional materials, skillfully incorporating original wood floors, beams, and windows into the design. Rough brick walls create a startling contrast to the smooth, sleek white gypsum surfaces. The new, exposed ductwork floats above, providing a reflective foil to the rustic character of each room. Large masonry fireplace masses serve as the focal point of each space, inviting occupants to gather around.
