Johnson-Schmidt & Associates designed downtown Elmira's first state-of-the-art, mixed-use building erected in decades. The building now holds 51 sophisticated apartments and 16,500 square feet of ground-floor boutique commercial space. This infill development embodies the principles of New Urbanism with a pedestrian-friendly, Main Street neighborhood. The building's exterior retains the visual integrity and material mass blocking of the historic river district, while clean, classic interiors frame panoramic views of the Riverfront Park, the Chemung River, and Clemens Square.
