Preservation :: Context Inside & Out

Finding the right aesthetics for both the interior and exterior aspects of a preservation project consists of balancing tastes, historic properties, and the current needs for use of the space.

The exterior of a building does not exist independently of the interior dwelling. Its outside context includes signage, landscaping, paving for vehicles and pedestrians, and of course, the relationship to nearby buildings, neighborhoods, and public spaces.

Johnson-Schmidt & Associates has a history of successful building projects in which we have overseen all aspects of exterior and interior restoration including the determination of appropriate signage and landscaping, interior design, and furnishing services.
